1. 〜てもいいです — permission
写真を撮ってもいいですか。
— ええ、いいですよ。/ ええ、どうぞ。
— すみません、ちょっと…The trailing ちょっと… is a standard soft refusal — the sentence is deliberately left unfinished.
2. 〜てはいけません — prohibition
ここでたばこを吸ってはいけません。
Blunt — used for rules and by people in authority. Softer alternative: 〜ないでください (L17).
Answering a permission question in the negative usually avoids いけません: 「いいえ、いけません」sounds harsh.
3. 〜ています — ongoing state / habit

Particles:住みます and 勤めます take に; 働きます takes で.
4. ⚠ The 知っています trap

知っていません does not exist. Compare 住んでいます → 住んでいません, whichis regular. This is a very common test item.
