今日のポイント
want a thing
わたしは車がほしいです。
Negative: 今何もほしくないです。
ほしい is an い-adjective: ほしくないです / ほしかったです / ほしくなかったです.
Not used to state a third person's desire directly (that needs ほしがっています, later).
want to do
わたしは日本へ留学したいです。
Object particle: お茶を/が飲みたいです。 — both accepted
Negative: どこも行きたくないです。たい also conjugates as an い-adjective: 飲みたかったです / 飲みたくなかったです.
Don't use たいですか to a superior — it sounds intrusive. Use 〜ませんか instead.
Like ほしい, たい states your own desire. For someone else use 〜たがっています — 先生は行きたがっています, not 先生は行きたいです.
purpose of going
神戸へインド料理を食べに行きます。
デパートへかばんを買いに行きました。

| する-noun (drop する) | 日本へ勉強に来ました |

The particle は/を/へ is normally dropped after どこか・何か.
