より marks the thing being surpassed. It can also come first: 大阪より東京のほうが大きいです。

Trap: use どちらfor two items even when they aren't directions. 何がいいですか ✕ for a two-way choice.
Answer with 〜のほうが. Both equally: どちらも好きです。
