1. 〜と思います — opinion / conjecture
[plain form] + と思います
明日雨が降ると思います。
日本の物価は高いと思います。

Negative goes inside: 来ないと思います○ (I think he won't come) — not来ると思いません.

わたしもそう思います。/ わたしはそう思いません。
2. 〜と言いました — quotation

Indirect quotation always uses plain form, regardless of how politely the original was spoken.
Tense inside the quote is relative to the speaking moment, not to now.
Reporting to a third party: 〜と言っていました (L33).
3. でしょう — two uses

Attaches to plain form, but drop だ for な-adj and nouns: 便利でしょう ○ /便利だでしょう ✕

わたしもそう思います。
そうですね…、ちょっとわかりません。
〜でしょう？ — ええ、そうですね。
Key vocabulary
'I think it will rain tomorrow.'
'I think he won't come.' — put negative in the RIGHT place.
'I think it's convenient.' (便利)
'I think today is a day off.' (休み)
Ask someone's opinion about Japan.
Directquote: Tanaka said 「行きます」.
Indirect quote: report that Tanaka will go.
'It will probably be sunny tomorrow.' (falling)
'This is pretty, right?' seeking agreement (rising)
'He's probably busy.' (忙しい)
